I was very sad to hear the news of Roy E. Disney's passing.Instead of posting the news(which is ALL over the internet,WOW!)I found a few quotes and comments that I found interesting and touching.
"People always underestimated Roy," Peter Schneider, the former president of Walt Disney Feature Animation said. "You underestimate Roy at your peril, as many people have learned."
Disney said that Eisner's leadership had led to the perception of the company as "rapacious, soul-less and always looking for the 'quick buck' rather than long-term value."
Disney company president and chief executive Bob Iger paid tribute to Roy E Disney saying his "true passion and focus were preserving and building upon the amazing legacy of Disney animation that was started by his father and uncle."
"This is sad news indeed. He had helped to lead coups to oust people taking Disney in the wrong direction. If that ever happens again, who will be able to save the company now?"
"Roys contributions to Disney Corp. could not have been greater, he kept the creative heart and soul of Disney alive during some bad times. This is the man who saved Disney; brought in Michael Eisner when fresh blood was needed, and then orchestrated Eisners destruction when Michael took things too far. The guy was a true professional of the old style."
The end of a era.I fear that if there is any original Disney company and Parks ideals left they have no chance now.Roy was not only our fearless leader, but he was a "Disney" and he never was disloyal to his family name.We will miss you Roy and thank you for everything did.
