Back in FlightSim. . . I flew Earhart's Lockheed Electra 10E in FS for the first time and loved it! I then decided I had to have one in my hanger permanently so I chose this 10A because it has the standard airline cabin instead of Amelia's modified fuselage fuel tank and the more standard instrumentation in the cockpit(and slightly modernized). This 10A is without a doubt the most wonderful FS aircraft I have yet flown(and I have flown hundreds of FS aircraft). It's like flying with angels.I'm in love,LOL. Just thought I'd share.

Oh how cool! What a great picture! That Lockheed is such a beautiful airplane! I loved that scene in "Amelia" where she looks at her reflection on the side of the plane - it was so shiny. I love, love, love that period of aviation history! I love how the planes were all different styles, unlike today - all our modern airplanes look pretty much the same. Do you have some pictures of the cockpit and the interior cabin? I'd love to see them.
Will do Kathy, interior and a few more exteriors(from the air)as well in my next posting.
I agree, all airliners now are 'tubes'.There where so many different styles in those early days. The Ford Tri-motor being one of my favorites.
Thanks, Horus!
I don't know if it's still there, but before, every time I drove past the Detroit City Airport, they had two airplanes on display at the entrance: a Douglas DC-3, and a Ford Tri-Motor. I would always walk over to look at them, after parking my car.
The tri-motors were a favorite of mine, too. Fokker made one, Ford made one. Very very cool airplanes. I love all the airplanes from that era, because they had so much character.
I forgot I was supposed to call! Will try to do that this weekend.
If possible let me know what day you are calling.I believe the phone ringer is turned off most of the time.
Will do!
